Trainee Advocate (GR10/Ply/KAD)

Lyons Davidson is a national law practice of 48 partners or equivalent, and over 1200 staff, operating from principal offices in Bristol and offices in Solihull, Leeds, Surrey, Plymouth, Cardiff and London, with our associated practice in Edinburgh, Lyons Davidson Scotland LLP.

Purpose:
We are looking for a Trainee Advocate to join our advocacy team based in our Plymouth office.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Initially the position will mainly involve attending small claims hearings, but other duties will include drafting advices, attending infant approval hearings and other lesser value court work.

Skills/Competencies:
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to think on your feet and use your initiative. You will be able to manage your own time and workload, working under minimum supervision. You will have excellent negotiation and persuasive skills. Previous advocacy experience is preferred but not essential.

You will hold a law degree and BPTC/BVC. However, other levels of education will be considered.

A driving licence is desirable.
