Graduate Engineer - Chemical/Metallurgy (Plymouth)

Our client is a manufacturef of high specification tubing in stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium. It is a well-established leader in its field with an excellent international reputation.

They are looking to recruit a Graduate Engineer with a Chemical / Metallurgical processing background to assist in the reduction in the variation of the processes employed at our Plymouth site. The person will focus on the wet chemical processes involving the use of various acids (including HF and Nitric Acid), and organic solvents to remove all residual processing contaminants from the metal surface. Once up to speed with the processes employed, your initial projects will be to take the lead in validation activities for cleaning operations whilst also preparing the organisation for a NADCAP audit of the chemical processing activities.

Experience & Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Metallurgy, with significant experience of the alternate subject.

Exposure to the requirements of NADCAP for the approval of Chemical processing would be a distinct advantage.

Knowledge of chemical analysis techniques (e.g. Infrared spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric Analysis), stainless steel and titanium alloy properties would be a distinct advantage.

You must have an understanding of both oral and written English sufficient for you to work effectively and safely in the factory.

Temporary to Permanent work

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm

Overtime available

29 days paid holiday per year.
